IL6ST divergent transcript (IL6ST-DT), also known as CTD-2031P19.3, is a long non-coding RNA gene transcribed from the region near the IL6ST (Interleukin 6 cytokine family signal transducer) gene on chromosome 5. This RNA is not translated into a protein, and currently there is no experimental evidence supporting a receptor or enzyme function, or direct relevance as a therapeutic target. Its biological role, if any, has not been characterized, and it does not interact with known drugs nor serve as a biomarker. It should not be confused with the protein-coding IL6ST gene (encoding gp130), which is an important cytokine receptor subunit involved in immune and inflammatory pathways.
