ILVBL antisense RNA 1 (ILVBL-AS1) is a long noncoding RNA that is transcribed from the opposite strand of the ILVBL gene locus[4]. Like other antisense lncRNAs, it is presumed to regulate the expression of its sense gene—possibly by affecting transcription, RNA stability, or epigenetic states—but no specific biological or disease roles have been described for ILVBL-AS1 in the available literature[2][3][4]. Antisense lncRNAs in general are increasingly recognized as key modulators of gene expression with the ability to influence diverse cellular processes, but ILVBL-AS1 itself does not currently have known therapeutic, diagnostic, or biomarker roles[2][3].
