Imaging contrast (also called contrast agent or contrast medium) is a diagnostic substance used to enhance medical imaging, not a drug target for therapeutic intervention. Contrast agents are materials that help radiologists and clinicians visualize internal body structures more clearly during imaging procedures like X-rays, CT scans, MRI, and ultrasound.
