Target intelligence / Profile preview
Immediate early response 3 interacting protein 1 pseudogene (ENSG00000275550) is a genomic DNA sequence highly similar to the functional IER3IP1 gene but incapable of encoding a functional protein product due to sequence mutations or lack of regulatory elements. Pseudogenes are considered nonfunctional remnants of once-functional genes, often formed by duplication or retrotransposition events. Although most pseudogenes are transcriptionally silent and lack biological function, some may give rise to noncoding RNAs with possible regulatory effects; however, for this particular pseudogene, there are no data supporting a significant biological or disease-related role[4][2][6].
