ImmTOR is a proprietary platform technology consisting of biodegradable nanoparticles made from poly(lactic acid) and poly(ethylene glycol) that encapsulate rapamycin, a clinically known mTOR inhibitor. ImmTOR is administered intravenously and distributes primarily to the liver and spleen, where it is taken up by antigen-presenting cells and induces a tolerogenic immune environment. When co-administered with a biologic or gene therapy vector, ImmTOR suppresses antigen-specific immune responses and the formation of anti-drug antibodies (ADAs) by promoting the expansion of regulatory T cells and inhibiting activation of effector and B cells. ImmTOR is not a singular molecular target or endogenous protein, but rather a drug delivery and immune modulation system designed for clinical immunotherapy applications.\nImmTOR is not a single molecule, protein, or receptor, but a nanomedicine platform. Its principal function is immune tolerance induction by delivering rapamycin in a tissue-targeted, nanoparticle formulation. The mechanism centers on modulating dendritic cells and hepatic/splenic immune populations, promoting tolerogenic T cell phenotypes and immune checkpoint expression.\nImmTOR thus should not be listed as a canonical molecular drug target, receptor, or gene but is crucial as a clinical modality for immune tolerance induction in immunogenicity management and various other indications.
