Key chemokines involved include CCL2, CCL3, CCL4, CXCL9 and CXCL10 which attract monocytes and dendritic cells.
MF59 induces local chemokine production at the injection site, leading to recruitment of monocytes, dendritic cells, neutrophils, and other antigen-presenting cells (APCs). These APCs take up antigen/adjuvant complexes and migrate to draining lymph nodes, enhancing antigen presentation and stimulating adaptive immune responses.
