T helper cells (Th cells) are a subset of CD4+ T lymphocytes that play a central role in the adaptive immune system. They facilitate the activity of other immune cells—especially antigen-presenting cells (APCs) such as B cells, macrophages, and dendritic cells—primarily through the release of cytokines and chemokines. Th cell modulation refers to influencing their activation, differentiation, or function to alter immune responses. Dysregulation can lead to autoimmunity or immunodeficiency.
