The immune system is a complex network of organs, cells, and molecules that work together to defend the body against infections and other foreign invaders while protecting the body's own cells. Key components include organs like the bone marrow, thymus, spleen, and lymph nodes; cells such as lymphocytes (B-cells, T-cells, NK cells), neutrophils, eosinophils, basophils, monocytes, macrophages, and dendritic cells; and molecules like antibodies, complement proteins, and cytokines.
