The immunological process of stimulating the immune system to produce neutralizing antibodies that are effective against all four serotypes of dengue virus (DENV1–4). This is a central goal in dengue vaccine development and therapeutic antibody design. The antibodies primarily target the envelope (E) protein on the surface of each DENV virion, blocking viral entry into host cells. Broadly neutralizing antibodies (bNAbs) recognize conserved regions across all four serotypes, offering cross-protection. High titers and broad specificity are essential; sub-neutralizing levels may enhance infection through ADE, making balanced immunity crucial.
