Target intelligence / Profile preview
The immunoglobulin A (IgA) synthesis pathway refers to the cellular and molecular processes that generate IgA antibodies, primarily at mucosal surfaces. IgA is the most abundant antibody isotype in mucosal secretions and plays a crucial role in immune defense by neutralizing pathogens and preventing their attachment to epithelial cells. There are two main pathways for IgA synthesis: T-cell-dependent (TD) and T-cell-independent (TI).
