The immunoglobulin heavy chain variable region I pseudogene (Ig heavy chain V-I pseudogene) is a genomic DNA sequence in the immunoglobulin heavy chain locus. Pseudogenes are defective copies of genes that typically contain mutations preventing them from producing a functional protein. This pseudogene is related to variable (V) region genes involved in immunoglobulin (antibody) diversity, but it is non-functional due to disabling mutations such as premature stop codons or defective recombination signals. It does not contribute to the structure or function of antibodies and is not a therapeutic target[1][3].
