Immunoglobulin heavy constant epsilon P1 (IGHEP1)

Target
IGHEP1
Molecular classification
Other (pseudogene), Immunoglobulin gene family
01

Overview

Immunoglobulin heavy constant epsilon P1 (IGHEP1) is classified as a pseudogene in the human genome and does not encode a functional protein. IGHEP1 shares sequence homology with IGHE, the gene coding for the constant region of the epsilon heavy chain of immunoglobulin E (IgE), but lacks coding potential and is not known to have a biological role in immune function or disease. There are no known drugs targeting this pseudogene, nor is it used as a biomarker or considered therapeutically relevant. Its status as a pseudogene distinguishes it from the protein-coding IGHE gene, which mediates IgE antibody responses central to allergic diseases and parasitic defense[4][7]. - IGHEP1: pseudogene, not a functional receptor, enzyme, or other therapeutic target[4][7]. - No biological processes, drug interactions, or clinical relevance have been attributed to IGHEP1 in current biomedical resources.
