Immunoglobulin heavy variable 1-1 (IGHV1-1)

Immunoglobulin heavy variable 1-1 is a gene segment within the immunoglobulin heavy chain locus (IGH) containing the coding sequence for the variable region of the immunoglobulin heavy chain. These gene segments undergo somatic V(D)J recombination in developing B lymphocytes, generating the diverse antigen-binding sites of antibodies. It is not a classical receptor, enzyme, or drug target. Individual IGHV segments, such as IGHV1-1, contribute to antibody diversity and specificity but are not druggable themselves. Abnormal usage of certain IGHV genes may be associated with lymphoid malignancies or autoimmune diseases, although IGHV1-1 is not among the most commonly reported stereotyped IGHV segments. The submitted names "IGHVII-1-1" or "IGHV(II)-1-1" do not conform to major accepted nomenclature and likely arise from a misspelling or a non-standard nomenclature source.
