Overview

Immunoglobulin heavy variable 3-60 (IGHV3-60) is a variable region gene segment found within the immunoglobulin heavy-chain locus in the human genome. The IGHV gene segments, including IGHV3-60, are rearranged during B cell development to generate the diverse antigen-binding specificity of antibodies. These gene segments contribute to the variable domain of the antibody heavy chain, pairing with a light chain variable domain to create the antigen recognition site[1][2]. However, IGHV3-60 is annotated as a pseudogene in major databases, indicating it is predicted to be nonfunctional in coding for a functional antibody variable domain protein in the reference human population[3]. As such, it does not operate as a functional protein, target, or biomarker. Notes and limitations: - IGHV3-60 is *not* a functional drug target or a standard receptor/enzyme. It is a nonfunctional pseudogene and should not be confused with similar-sounding active immunoglobulin variable gene segments. - No evidence supports drug interactions, utility as a diagnostic or therapeutic biomarker, or specific disease linkage beyond general immunogenetic diversity.
