Target intelligence / Profile preview
Immunoglobulin heavy variable 3-OR16-16 (IGHV3OR16-16) is a pseudogene member of the immunoglobulin heavy variable gene family, located on human chromosome 16. Pseudogenes such as this derive from ancestral gene duplication events but are non-functional due to disabling mutations, such as frameshifts or premature stop codons. IGHV3OR16-16 does not encode a functional immunoglobulin protein and does not participate in immune responses. It is not a receptor, enzyme, or therapeutic target and is generally relevant only in genomic annotation or studies of immunoglobulin gene evolution.
