Immunoglobulin lambda variable 10-54 is a V region segment of the lambda light chain in human immunoglobulins. The variable domain determines the antibody’s specificity by contributing to the antigen-binding site, which is formed in combination with the variable region of the heavy chain. IGLV10-54 participates fundamentally in the adaptive immune response, enabling recognition and neutralization of diverse pathogens. It is part of the larger family of immunoglobulin variable domains and typically resides in the extracellular region as a component of secreted antibodies. This molecule is not considered a traditional drug target but is critical for antibody diversity in normal immunity. Its variable region may be studied for disease-associated clonal expansions (e.g. in B-cell malignancies), but it is not directly targeted by therapies or used as a stand-alone biomarker.
