Immunoglobulin lambda variable 3-10 is a member of the immunoglobulin lambda light chain variable region gene family. It encodes the variable part of the N-terminal domain of the light chain, which, together with the variable domain of the heavy chain, forms the antigen-binding site of antibodies. During B cell development, the locus undergoes V-(D)-J recombination, generating diversity necessary for antigen recognition in humoral immunity. The variable region gene is transcribed and incorporated into immunoglobulin molecules produced by B lymphocytes and plasma cells, enabling the adaptive immune response to a wide range of antigens
Not applicable for traditional drugs. The encoded variable region participates in antigen binding as part of antibodies generated by B cells. Therapeutic monoclonal antibodies would utilize similar sequences but do not target IGLV3-10 specifically
