Immunoglobulin lambda variable 3-6 (IGLV3-6) is a gene segment that encodes the variable region of the lambda light chain in immunoglobulins (antibodies)[2][4]. The variable region is a critical component of the antigen-binding site, formed through V(D)J recombination in B cells, conferring specificity to the adaptive immune response[2]. IGLV3-6 is one of several members of the IGLV3 gene family that contribute to the diversity of the antibody repertoire by recombining with different joining segments and undergoing somatic hypermutation. The variable domain is expressed as part of the light chain either on the surface of B cell receptors or in secreted antibodies[2]. While essential for immune function, IGLV3-6 itself is not considered a therapeutic target but rather a genetic building block for antibody diversity[1][2][4].
