Immunoglobulin lambda variable 7-43 is a protein-encoding gene specifying the variable region of the lambda light chain in human antibodies (immunoglobulins). The antigen specificity of an antibody is determined by the unique sequence and structure of its variable domains, which together with the heavy chain form the antigen-binding site. IGLV7-43 is involved in antigen recognition and humoral immune response and is located in the extracellular region and plasma membrane as part of the immunoglobulin complex produced by B lymphocytes. Abnormal expression or ratios of immunoglobulin light chains, including those encoded by IGLV7-43, can be a biomarker for diseases such as multiple myeloma, lymphomas, and chronic inflammatory conditions[2][3][5][1].
