Overview

The CGEN-15001T-associated receptor is an inhibitory immune checkpoint receptor located on T cells that interacts with the B7-like protein ILDR2 (Immunoglobulin-like domain-containing receptor 2). This receptor-ligand pair plays a critical role in maintaining immune homeostasis by providing a negative signal to T cells, thereby limiting excessive inflammatory responses and promoting immune tolerance. CGEN-15001, a therapeutic Fc-fusion protein derived from the extracellular domain of ILDR2, acts as an agonist for this receptor to suppress the activation of autoreactive T cells. In preclinical models of autoimmune diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis and multiple sclerosis, targeting this receptor has demonstrated the ability to restore long-term immune tolerance and reduce disease progression. Unlike many immunosuppressants that broadly deplete immune cells, drugs targeting this receptor aim to re-educate the immune system toward a non-pathogenic state.
