Immunoglobulin-like transcript 4 (ILT4) is an inhibitory receptor primarily expressed on myeloid lineage cells like monocytes, macrophages, and dendritic cells. It belongs to the leukocyte immunoglobulin-like receptor (LILR) family and contains ITIM motifs in its cytoplasmic domain. ILT4 interacts with ligands such as HLA-G and complement C4d, negatively regulating immune responses. It is implicated in cancer, autoimmunity, transplant tolerance, and infection, making it a potential therapeutic target for immune modulation.
