Immunoglobulin superfamily DCC subclass member 3 (IGDCC3) is a human protein encoded by the IGDCC3 gene on chromosome 15. It is predicted to be a cell adhesion molecule of the immunoglobulin superfamily, likely involved in cell-cell adhesion processes, possibly contributing to neuromuscular function such as balance. The protein is presumed to be localized to the cell membrane and possess extracellular immunoglobulin-like domains characteristic of adhesion molecules. Disease associations are rare and largely limited to genetic studies linking variants to conditions like short-rib thoracic dysplasia or some neurodegenerative disorders; these are not well established. To date, IGDCC3 is not an established drug target and has no direct interaction with approved therapeutic agents. Its biological function and direct physiological role remain largely uncharacterized in the current literature.
