Immunoglobulin superfamily DCC subclass member 4 (IGDCC4)

Target
IGDCC4
Molecular classification
Immunoglobulin superfamily domain containing, Fibronectin type III domain containing, Plasma membrane protein

Overview

Immunoglobulin superfamily DCC subclass member 4 (IGDCC4) is a cell surface protein predicted to be involved in cell-cell adhesion and is mainly located at the plasma membrane. It is a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily and contains fibronectin type III domains. IGDCC4 has been implicated in both normal developmental processes and various cancers, with epigenetic changes at its locus associated with birth weight, early childhood adiposity, and tumor progression, particularly in lung adenocarcinoma and breast cancer. Increased methylation or decreased expression of IGDCC4 is linked to more advanced disease states, suggesting its utility as an epigenetic biomarker for cancer prognosis and metabolic disease risk. However, there are currently no known drugs that directly target IGDCC4, nor is it broadly recognized as a therapeutic drug target[1][3].
