IGSF3 pseudogene 2 (IGSF3P2) is a non-protein-coding locus annotated as a pseudogene based on its sequence similarity to the immunoglobulin superfamily member 3 gene (IGSF3). It does not produce a functional protein and is generally considered to have no direct physiological function or relevance to drug targeting. The functional gene IGSF3 encodes a membrane protein involved in neuronal development and disease, but IGSF3P2 itself lacks any phosphoprotein coding function and is not implicated in any biological process or disease state. In summary, IGSF3P2 is a pseudogene and does not function as a protein, receptor, enzyme, or other canonical drug target. There is no direct evidence of molecular function, disease involvement, or pharmaceutical relevance. The therapeutic and biological studies commonly refer to the related functional gene, IGSF3, not this pseudogene.
