Target intelligence / Profile preview

Immunoglobulin superfamily member 8 (IGSF8)

Target
IGSF8
Molecular classification
Immunoglobulin superfamily member, Transmembrane protein
01

Overview

IGSF8 is a transmembrane protein belonging to the immunoglobulin superfamily. It acts as an innate immune checkpoint, inhibiting NK cell cytotoxicity by binding to KIR3DL2. It regulates cell movement, aggregation, proliferation, and morphology through interactions with tetraspanins and integrins. IGSF8 may also function as a tumor suppressor. It is frequently overexpressed in cancers and acts as an adhesion protein involved in T cell and NK cell interactions.
