Immunomodulation via paracrine signaling and cytokine secretion refers to the process by which cells, particularly immune cells, regulate the responses of neighboring cells through the local release of cytokines and other signaling molecules. In paracrine signaling, secreted cytokines diffuse over short distances and bind to receptors on nearby cells, inducing changes in cell behavior such as proliferation, activation, or inhibition. This mechanism plays a central role in coordinating immune responses, inflammation, and tissue homeostasis. Dysregulation of these pathways is associated with a variety of diseases, including inflammatory, infectious, autoimmune, and neoplastic disorders[4][5][1].
