Immunoproteasome subunit beta type-1i (β1i), also known as LMP2, is an inducible catalytic subunit of the immunoproteasome. It plays a central role in antigen processing for MHC class I presentation and influences inflammatory responses. Selective inhibitors are under investigation as potential therapeutics for autoimmune disorders and certain cancers. Deficiency or mutation impairs proper peptide processing for MHC class I presentation.
