Overview

InaF motif containing 1 (INAFM1) is a protein encoded by the human INAFM1 gene and is also referred to as Proline-rich protein 24 (PRR24). It is a putative transmembrane protein named for its InaF motif and proline-rich sequence. Despite its annotation as a protein-coding gene, there is no experimental evidence describing its molecular classification, biological function, disease role, or relevance as a therapeutic target in credible databases or peer-reviewed literature as of September 2025. It is not considered a drug target, nor is it cited as a biomarker or safety concern. Further study is required to clarify its biological significance, if any. The protein's function and classification within established molecular families (e.g., receptor, enzyme, ion channel) are not substantiated in the literature. The aliases listed are consistent across multiple genetic and proteomic resources, but none suggest a common therapeutic or diagnostic use. There are no reported interactions with drugs, no mechanism of pharmacological modulation, and no safety or disease relevance discussed in current sources. Its annotation in databases (GeneCards, UniProt) does not equate to experimental validation. As such, the protein should currently be considered incorrect or incomplete as a pharmacological or therapeutic target. INAFM1/PRR24 is not a validated therapeutic target and its biological significance remains unknown. Information provided here is subject to revision pending emerging data.
