Induction of humoral immunity refers to the initiation and development of the antibody-mediated arm of the adaptive immune system, in which B lymphocytes (B cells), upon encountering antigens with the help of helper T cells, differentiate into plasma cells that secrete antibodies into extracellular fluids[1][3][4][7]. These antibodies bind to antigens, neutralize pathogens, promote opsonization, and facilitate elimination via the complement system and phagocytosis[1][3][4][7]. The process also establishes immunological memory, which provides rapid and robust antibody responses upon subsequent exposures. This mechanism is critical for immune protection against many bacteria and viruses and forms the basis for the efficacy of most vaccines[5][7].
