Inflammatory cell mediator release is the process by which immune cells release a variety of chemical substances (mediators) in response to infection, injury, or other inflammatory stimuli. These mediators play central roles in initiating, amplifying, regulating, and resolving inflammation. Key mediators include vasoactive amines (e.g., histamine), peptides (e.g., bradykinin), lipid mediators (e.g., prostaglandins, leukotrienes), cytokines (e.g., IL-1β, TNF-alpha), and chemokines (e.g. CCL2/MCP1).
