Overview
Inflammatory cytokine release refers to the process by which immune and non-immune cells secrete signaling proteins called cytokines in response to infection, injury, or other inflammatory stimuli. These cytokines act as intercellular messengers that regulate the initiation, amplification, and resolution of inflammation throughout the body. Excessive or uncontrolled release leads to pathological conditions like "cytokine storm" syndromes (CSS) and multi-organ damage.
