Influenza virus haemagglutinin (HA) is the major surface glycoprotein of the influenza B virus, comprising over 80% of the envelope proteins in the viral particle. HA plays a critical role in viral entry by mediating binding to host cell receptors and facilitating membrane fusion. The protein is also a primary target for neutralizing antibodies and thus central to immune recognition and vaccine design.
