Inhibitor of apoptosis proteins (IAPs) are a family of proteins that inhibit apoptosis by blocking caspase activation or activity. They also regulate immune signaling and inflammation through their E3 ubiquitin ligase activity. IAPs are therapeutic targets in cancer due to their overexpression in many tumors.
