IKBKGP1 is a pseudogene in the human genome, with sequence similarity to the IKBKG gene that encodes the NF-kappa-B essential modulator (NEMO) protein. Pseudogenes do not produce functional proteins and typically do not have direct roles in biological processes or disease. IKBKGP1 is not considered a therapeutic target, and its identification should not be confused with NEMO/IKK-γ/IKBKG, which is an important regulatory subunit in the IKK complex that activates NF-κB, impacting inflammation, immune response, and cell survival[5].
