Overview

INO80 complex subunit B (INO80B) is a protein subunit of the large ATP-dependent INO80 chromatin remodeling complex. The INO80 complex, found in humans and conserved from yeast to mammals, features over 15 subunits and promotes alterations to chromatin structure that are critical for DNA accessibility and expression. The complex includes modules responsible for ATP hydrolysis, nucleosome movement, and recognition of histone and DNA features. INO80B is specifically a conserved accessory subunit present in the core remodeling module, contributing to nucleosome binding and remodeling activity. Although INO80 complex activity has implications in genome stability, DNA repair, and transcriptional regulation, INO80B itself is not a direct therapeutic drug target, and no pharmacological modulators are known for this protein.
