Inosine monophosphate dehydrogenase 1 pseudogene 11 (IMPDH1P11) is a genetic sequence classified as a pseudogene of the IMPDH1 family. Pseudogenes are DNA segments that resemble genes but do not produce functional proteins or have biological activity. IMPDH1P11 does not encode a functional enzyme and does not participate in purine metabolism or other cellular processes. The canonical, functional version of the gene, IMPDH1, is an enzyme involved in the rate-limiting step of guanine nucleotide biosynthesis and has been studied as a cancer and immunological target[1][2]; however, no evidence supports any functional, therapeutic, or biomarker relevance for IMPDH1P11.
