Target intelligence / Profile preview
Insulin-like growth factor 2 (IGF2) is a protein hormone structurally similar to insulin. It plays a critical role in fetal development, cell proliferation, differentiation, migration, and survival. IGF2 is primarily active during embryonic and fetal stages but continues to have functions in adult tissues. Dysregulation or loss of imprinting at the IGF2 locus has been linked to overgrowth syndromes and various cancers.
