Target intelligence / Profile preview
Insulin-like growth factor 2 mRNA-binding protein 1 (IGF2BP1) is an RNA-binding protein that plays a key role in post-transcriptional regulation. It binds to specific mRNAs, most notably the insulin-like growth factor 2 (IGF2) transcript, and modulates their localization, stability, and translation. IGF2BP1 is highly expressed during embryogenesis and is often re-expressed or upregulated in various cancers, promoting tumorigenesis. It also plays a role in intestinal barrier function and reproductive biology.
Not applicable, direct inhibitors not yet readily available, targeting the RNA binding process to target mRNAs
