Insulin-like growth factor 2 mRNA-binding protein 2 antisense RNA 1 (IGF2BP2-AS1) is a long non-coding RNA transcribed from the antisense strand of the IGF2BP2 gene region. It is predominantly localized in the cytoplasm of cancer cells and has been shown to promote cell proliferation, migration, and suppress apoptosis, particularly in oral squamous cell carcinoma[2]. Elevated expression of IGF2BP2-AS1 is associated with poor patient survival and may regulate tumor progression by modulating critical pathways such as Wnt/β-catenin signaling. While not a direct therapeutic target as of current knowledge, IGF2BP2-AS1 may function as a novel molecular marker and a potential candidate for future RNA-targeted cancer therapies[2][5].
