Insulin secretion by β-cells in transplanted pancreatic islets refers to the process by which beta cells, located within clusters of endocrine cells (islets of Langerhans) from a donor pancreas, produce and release insulin after being transplanted into a recipient—typically someone with type 1 diabetes.
