Integrator complex subunit 15 (INTS15) is a newly defined, non-catalytic structural component of the human Integrator complex, a large nuclear multiprotein assembly that regulates the function and processing of nascent RNA transcripts synthesized by RNA polymerase II. INTS15 interacts physically and functionally within the INTS10–INTS13–INTS14–INTS15 subcomplex, which is involved in modulating the structure and activity of Integrator. Its principal molecular roles include support for small nuclear RNA 3′ end processing, mRNA splicing, and the regulation of transcription termination, particularly during eye and brain development. Mutations or functional deficiencies in INTS15 lead to aberrant splicing and manifest as congenital ocular and neurodevelopmental disorders. There is currently no evidence for INTS15 functioning as a direct pharmacological target, and it acts primarily as a structural and regulatory component rather than an enzyme or receptor.
