Overview

Integrator complex subunit 6-like (INTS6L) is a protein-coding gene that encodes a member of the Integrator complex, a multi-protein complex implicated in RNA polymerase II-mediated 3'-end processing of small nuclear RNAs (snRNAs) and regulation of transcription[6]. INTS6L is structurally related to INTS6 and shares similarity to the DEAD/H box family of RNA helicases but is not predicted to possess typical catalytic helicase activity. Rather, it likely functions as an adaptor within chromatin, helping to mediate protein-protein and protein-nucleic acid interactions and is predicted to be active in the nucleus and chromatin[1][6]. INTS6L can interact with the INTS3-containing SOSS complex, which participates in DNA damage sensing and repair, indicating a potential role in the cellular response to DNA double-strand breaks[2]. There is limited data linking INTS6L with specific human diseases, though genetic associations have been noted with arrhythmogenic right ventricular dysplasia and developmental and epileptic encephalopathy, and its expression may hold prognostic value in certain cancers[6][8]. There is no evidence that INTS6L is a direct target for drugs or is currently considered a typical therapeutic target such as a receptor, enzyme, or transporter.
