Integrin alpha V beta 3 (αVβ3) is a heterodimeric cell surface receptor that mediates cell adhesion, migration, and signal transduction. It is composed of alpha V (CD51) and beta 3 (CD61) subunits and binds to extracellular matrix proteins containing the RGD motif. It is highly expressed on endothelial cells, osteoclasts, platelets, and some immune cells. αVβ3 plays a critical role in angiogenesis, tumor metastasis, bone resorption, and hemostasis, making it a therapeutic target for cancer, bone diseases, and other conditions.
