Target intelligence / Profile preview
Integrin αvβ6 is a heterodimeric cell surface receptor composed of the αv (CD51) and β6 subunits. It mediates cell adhesion to the extracellular matrix (ECM) and plays key roles in signal transduction, cellular migration, proliferation, and differentiation. It is minimally expressed in healthy adult tissues but highly upregulated during pathological processes such as cancer and fibrosis, making it a potential therapeutic target. It uniquely activates latent TGF‑β1.
