Integrin subunit beta 3 (ITGB3)

Target
ITGB3
Molecular classification
Integrin subunit, Receptor
01

Overview

Integrin subunit beta 3 (ITGB3), also known as CD61, is a protein encoded by the ITGB3 gene in humans. It is a critical component of several integrin receptors, including αIIbβ3 (GPIIb/IIIa) and αVβ3, and plays essential roles in cell adhesion, signaling, and hemostasis. Mutations in ITGB3 can cause Glanzmann thrombasthenia, a bleeding disorder. It interacts with several proteins, including PTK2, TLN1, and CIB1, and binds to ligands such as fibrinogen, vitronectin, and fibronectin via R-G-D motifs.
