Target intelligence / Profile preview
The interferon alpha (IFN-α) pathway is a critical component of the innate immune response, primarily activated in response to viral infections. IFN-α is a type I interferon that signals through the type I interferon receptor complex (IFNAR), activating the JAK/STAT pathway and leading to the transcription of Interferon Stimulated Genes (ISGs). This pathway mediates antiviral effects, immune modulation, and increased antigen presentation.
Stimulation of type I interferon receptor leading to JAK/STAT pathway activation and ISG transcription.
