Overview
Interferon-gamma-inducible protein 10 (IP-10), also known as C-X-C motif chemokine ligand 10 (CXCL10), is a small cytokine belonging to the CXC chemokine family. It is a chemoattractant for monocytes/macrophages, T lymphocytes, natural killer (NK) cells, and dendritic cells. CXCL10 expression is induced by interferon-gamma (IFN‑γ) and other inflammatory stimuli. It plays a key role in Th1-type inflammatory responses and is implicated in infectious diseases, autoimmune conditions, and tumor development. The primary receptor for IP‑10/CXCL10 is CXCR3.
