Interferon omega 1 pseudogene 19 (IFNWP19) is a pseudogene related to the interferon type I family in the human genome. Pseudogenes are genomic DNA sequences similar to normal genes but are non-functional due to mutations that prevent their correct transcription or translation. While members of the true interferon omega and broader type I interferon families play key roles in innate immunity, viral defense, and cancer surveillance, pseudogenes such as IFNWP19 are not expressed in a functional protein form and have no established role in signal transduction, disease, or drug targeting[2][4][5]. There is no evidence that IFNWP19 acts as a receptor, enzyme, or any other active molecular target; its inclusion among therapeutic or diagnostic targets is an error or a misunderstanding of genomic nomenclature.
