Interferon regulatory factor 4 (IRF4) is a transcription factor belonging to the IRF family, primarily expressed in immune cells. It plays a central role in regulating gene expression during immune cell development and function, particularly within lymphoid and myeloid lineages. Its functions include B and T cell differentiation, myeloid lineage commitment, and regulation of Toll-like receptor signaling pathways. Dysregulation of IRF4 has been implicated in various diseases, including lymphoid malignancies and autoimmune disorders.
