The interferon-stimulated gene (ISG) pathway is a critical component of the innate immune response, activated primarily by interferons (IFNs). When IFNs bind to their respective cell surface receptors, they trigger intracellular signaling cascades that lead to the transcriptional activation of hundreds of ISGs.
